Grace Engineered Hot Spot Monitor
The Hot Spot Monitor from Grace Engineered Products is a continuous real-time temperature monitoring and alarm device finds faults before they find you.
The hot spot monitor is a non-conductive temperature monitoring device that identifies potential hot spots in critical equipment and alerts users to abnormalities before they lead to unplanned shutdowns. The fiber probes securely piggy-back onto existing bolted connections and potential heat sources. Heat sources include busbars, breaker connections, bus ducts, transformers or any other potential hot spots.
The Hot Spot Monitor holds many benefits over traditional IR Thermography. The HSM can monitor inaccessible equipment and blind spots to IR scanning. The greatest advantage over IR thermography is the HSM’s continuous Real-time monitoring feature.
The HSM is available in 2 versions, a 9 point module with a built in LCD display, or an 18 point module and both models can communicate with devices via RS485, Modbus TCP IP, Modbus RTU, and Ethernet IP. Each HSM Module has 16 MB of on-board memory, which is enough to store 9 years of data logged every 15 minutes.
The hot spot monitor provides a unique combination of patented fiber technology and advanced algorithms that convert the change in light intensity into temperature. The patented fiber probes securely connect to a ring style connector that conveniently mounts to the source of heat while the other end connects to the HSM module.
